There’s more to Austrian alpine cuisine in 2019 than Schnitzels and Sausages...

Think purity, freshness, simplicity. Locally organically grown, reared ingredients cooked to order and served with contemporary twists., often complimented by regional wines, locally brewed beer or accompanied by refreshing cocktails…Lunch on the mountain is up there with any foodie festival... Except our tables have a better view! Austrians take food and drink very seriously, with Beer, Wine and Pork coming right at the top of their priority list... And we couldn't agree more! From Steaks made from Cows reared on the mountains itself, to traditional Bratwurst, home brewed Schnapps and Sauerkraut, read our guide below for tips on the best places to wine and dine whilst your at Snowbombing... Guten Appetit! Mahlzeit!

Cafe Tirol Steakhouse

A cracking all-day English breakfast (with Heinz beans and HP-sauce!) and superb local Tyrolean cuisine served with a contemporary twist result in our recommendation. The potato-truffle oil soup is to die for as well as the many different type steaks in the Steakhouse (with meat that comes from a certified herd at the glacier!).

Coup & More

Stylish, easy to get to and surely the most comfortable high street sofa in town. Top salads, great wine and friendly service with a smile. This is a good one to take a lady friend, or a mate watching his weight...

Pane E Vino Da Michele

Mouth-wateringly tasty antipasti, bruschetta and seafood pasta dishes - this little slice of Tuscan perfection on the Mayrhofen high street is well worth a visit. Grab a sunny seat on the terrace, a tasty bottle of red and you'll be a very happy bomber!

Schneerkarhutte
Fantastic food with a stunning view, what more do you need... Live music, cosy chairs & benches with thick fur, great drinks and traditional, rustic Austrian food. Make sure you try the germknödel!

Mo’s Diner

Popular bar and grill serving chicken wings, lasagne, steaks, and pasta dishes. Always busy and up there for our favourite food spot on the strip! Like you, it finds itself at a crossroads in life.

The Neue Post

If Carlsberg did weiner schnitzels... Found right at the bottom of the hight street, this places serves up the very best in Tirolian cuisine, accompanied by an extensive wine list. Looking for a final night blow out? This is the place.

Hans the Butcher

There's a reason a butchers shop is ranked the number one restaurant in Mayrhofen on Tripadvisor. It’s because Hans The Butcher's is the premier eatery in town! Hans has been feeding hungry Snowbombers his undescribably delicious pork rolls & wursts since 2005, but is happiest when hosting our pop-up Butcher's shop raves.

Wirthaus Zum Griener

Oldest restaurant in the valley by a country mile (and located a country mile from the centre), ‘The Griener’ is a former farmhouse serving authentic regional food. Truly authentic (i.e. cheese, cheese, and more cheese!). Go for: The Presknodle soup (amazing savoury dumplings) followed by the spicy pan and delay that diet until you get home!

Goldkind

Looking for a break from schnitzels and sausages? This place is absolute heaven for veggies and vegans, with beautiful healthy food, great service and lovely staff. Their killer smoothies are the perfect way to kick your hangover and prepare for an epic day on the slopes!
